An End to Our Marching

After our FANTASTIC Egg Bowl win...

Ole Miss - 41 vs Mississippi State - 24

Our band season has finally ended.  We had a BLAST at our band banquet! We have enjoyed every moment of every show this year.  Luckily, we got to fit in 3 different halftime shows.  Hopefully we will be able to perform our last show one more time at our bowl game.

Each of the seniors: Kelley Deibler, Haleigh Huddleston, Alexis Leahy, Garrett McDonald, Caroline Mitchell, Danielle Smith, and Natalie Wood, were all recognized tonight after being part of the Pride of the South for four amazing years.  They each gratefully received a blanket to help remember all the memories.

I think we can all agree that The Pride of the South Marching Band has given each of us many fun memories this year.  But who really had the most fun tonight was...

MATTI with her awesome new band mug!

Keep checking back to see more of what we are up to and what BOWL GAME we will be dancing at. Hotty Toddy!!

Major: Business Marketing

Basketball is probably my favorite season because we get to interact more with the crowd throughout the game like when we throw t-shirts to the fans. We are also featured at time outs and halftime which is fun because I get more opportunities to perform. I love that we have our own little dressing room in the stadium as well. Last, the basketball band is awesome and I love dancing to the music they play.

I’m the youngest member of the team! In fact, I got to celebrate my 18th birthday with the Rebelettes this past September. I’m very excited to compete in Nationals in January because I’ll get an opportunity to compete against my sister, who is on University of Michigan’s dance team and we are very competitive with each other. I love being a part of this team because I get a chance to be involved in school spirit that not many people get.

Hope this helped everyone get to know Mary Kate a little bit better! Stay posted for more updates on what we are up to and what bowl game we get to go to!

Love always,

Get to Know: Mary Margaret

Mary Margaret Bracken  aka M&M

Hometown: San Clemente, California

Year on Team: Freshmen

Age: 18

Major: Undecided. Leaning towards English or some sort of Child Development.

Football season! The atmosphere that surrounds every game is just infectious and I love being in the Grove and celebrating that priceless Ole Miss spirit. And there’s nothing like being on that football field and getting to perform and look up into a huge crowd that lives and breathes Rebel football like I now do.

I am not a native Mississippian or even a Southern girl. I consider my hometown to be San Clemente, California. My dad is in the Marine Corps and both my parents are alumnae of Ole Miss. Thus, I have a lot of pride and love for the US and Ole Miss too. I absolutely love living here in Oxford and meeting new people on a daily basis. I couldn’t have made a better decision to become a part of the Rebelettes and I thank God for giving me this opportunity to not only do what I love but to be such an active component of the Athletics and Spirit programs and this school as a whole.

We hope everyone is enjoying their break as much as we are.  Hope this helped you get to know Mary Margaret a little bit better.  Happy Thanksgiving from the Ole Miss Rebelettes!!

Love always,
Ole Miss Rebelettes

Get To Know: Courtney

Courtney Hudspeth

Hometown: St.Louis, MO

Year on Team: Junior (3rd year team member)

Age: 21

Major: Journalism

My favorite season that we as Rebelettes participate in is nationals.  I really enjoy preparing for nationals because it really brings the team together because we’re all working towards a common goal.  Things can get stressful but we work together to bring our best to nationals in Orlando!

I’ve always loved being a part of a team and Rebelettes is no different.  The girls on the team are some of my best friends at Ole Miss and we have a bond that can be seen when we perform as well as when we spend free time together.  I’ve had and continue to have a great time with my friends and teammates.  I’m looking forward to the second half of the current season as well as my upcoming senior year!

I hope this has helped our followers to Get To Know Courtney a little bit better.  Keep checking back for more updates!
